3 Interesting Ways for hitting the lip of the wave as a Beginner

Trick no 3: The Reverse Karate Chop
This is quite a personal favorite trick of the beginners as well as professionals.  This is the first step towards the scenario about teaching yourself how you can lay back.  If you feel at some point that the board has not enough turned as you have hoped it to be and still you are making some efforts then you can try throwing down the leading arm behind your head.  You will find some amazing results.
